VITAL, PAULEUS
PAULEUS VITAL (1917-1984) – Pauleus Vital, born in October, 1917 in Jacmel, was a cabinetmaker and a shipbuilder in Jacmel before joining the Centre d’Art in Port-au-Prince at the encouragement of his half brother Prefete Duffaut in 1958. He later returned to Jacmel, where he continued to paint until his death on June 18, 1984.

He is included in the permanent collection of the Milwaukee Museum of Art, the Waterloo Museum of Art in Iowa, and the Ramapo College in Mahwah, New Jersey.
