Joseph, Josue

Born in 1947 in Santiago, Cuba, of Haitian parents. He was brought to Jacmel, Haiti when he was 9 years old. In 1962 he was sent to Port-au-Prince to study painting with his uncle, Alexandre Gregoire. A rich painter, his brush strokes give life to leaves and flowers, makes certain pictures look like embroidery.
