Zephirin, Frantz

Born in Cap-Haitian, Haiti 1968

Frantz Zephirin started painting in 1973 with the Haitian Master Antoine Obin, but quickly pulled away from the stylized school of the Cap-Haitian artists. In 1976 at the age of 8 he sold his first painting. His highly creative style, which deals with themes of political, social, and voodoo subjects, soon captured the attention of the art world in Haiti and his career took off very rapidly.
